The administrative services of the MRC of Bonaventure see to the preparation of the council meetings between the mayors of the territory. Following theses meetings documentation is prepared and processed in accordance with the decisions taken during the meeting. Also, the MRC manages human, physical and financial resources.
The administrative services of the MRC is also mandated to oversee the application of the government funded program SHQ « Habitation society of Québec». This implies the application of « RénoVillage », « PAD » home renovations to help the physically disabled, « PRU » emergency home reparation, « LAAA » Program to adapt homes for the elderly.
Theses programs are geared towards homes with a low family income and help with restoring habitations to a more acceptable state. The personnel mandated to implement theses programs provide information, counsel and recommendations to those interested.
Support for the regional economic development services (CLD)
Considering that the CLD and the MRC of Bonaventure share the same offices, a close relationship has formed between the local development agents and the urban planner of the MRC. When projects are presented to the CLD, the MRC can quickly and easily evaluate the feasibility of the project in accordance with local zoning bylaws, regulations and other restrictions. The collaboration of these two departments dates back to 1995 and essentially aims to better serve the population and projet promoters.
Sale of homes for non payment of taxes
The MRC of Bonaventure annually proceeds with sale of real estate for non payment of taxes. This is a service provided for all the municipalities of the territory including the school board.
