Revitalization Agent

The Revitalization Agent serves the municipalities of:

  • Shigawake
  • Saint Godefroi
  • Hopetown
  • Hope
  • New Carlisle
  • Cascapedia-Saint Jules

The primary task of the Revitalization Agent is to accompany these municipalities, their citizens and organizations in a wide variety of development projects of a social or economic nature. The agent is committed to providing support in the elaboration of development plans and projects, and sourcing project funding through current government programs. Additionally, the agent is tasked to pay particular attention to the needs of the Anglophone community in the MRC of Bonaventure with respect to ensuring that social, professional and municipal networks are robust and accessible, regardless of the linguistic community.

Development projects may be the initiative of a municipal council, or of private citizens in a community. Successful projects will have the following characteristics:

  1. A dedicated team of community members who believe in the project, and who are prepared to work to attain their goal.
  2. A collaborative approach, that seeks to include additional partners and participants when possible.
  3. A unique element that does not replicate the same services and infrastructures found in neighbouring municipalities.
  4. A long term perspective on project development, to plan for the future evolution of the community as well as to be prepared to capitalize on future opportunities effectively and efficiently.

If you have an idea for the development of your community (in the municipalities of Shigawake, Saint Godefroi, Hopetown, Hope, New Carlisle, and Cascapedia-Saint-Jules) contact the Revitalization Agent at the MRC of Bonaventure to explore your project's potential.
